Boosted Energy And 8 Other Benefits Of A Detox

This week's blog contains 8 benefits of a detox. Over the past month, I have received many messages with enquiries about how to do a detox and/or cleanse. Many are keen but don't know where to start. This blog will give you what you need to get started with your cleanse or detox.

I have, therefore, decided to focus on detox for the rest of this month to help you navigate this minefield and find a detox that works for you.

The Mini Detox

Starting with a mini detox is wise so you can not only have a great result but also limit the 'healing crisis' that can occur when you go too hard or too fast. I'm not a fan of creating a healing crisis, which means you will endure unnecessary suffering. By doing a mini detox, you focus on cleansing and gifting your mind and body rest to scale up your health.

Now is the time of year to think about detoxing or cleansing, as the significant seasons are changing. For those who celebrated Easter, this coincides with maybe a little too much chocolate, too, so it's a perfect time to cleanse.

1. A Detox Helps Reset Your Eating Habits

A detox/cleanse can be a reset button for unhealthy eating habits. By eliminating processed foods, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol, individuals can break the cycle of cravings and dependence on these substances.

Our Rejuv detoxes/cleanses focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, and small wild fish, which promote better digestion (if you have an allergy, we can replace the fish as needed). Detox Foods

Regardless of where you are in the world, adding more plants and consuming less animal protein in your diet helps you cleanse and detox. Abstaining from alcohol for a month is also great, and many feel so great they continue abstaining for longer.

Eating less animal protein gives your body extra energy to clean up your detox pathways. I'm not a vegan, but on our Rejuv Wellness Retreats and during our detoxes, a vegan or pesca-vegan combination works the best based on my 25 years of research, but that said if you're allergic we always change fish to organic 2 legged animals such as chicken or turkey. 

 

A Time-Efficient Detox

Due to time constraints, I encourage many of my clients to choose one of our Rejuv Packs based on their goals. Depending on your schedule, the one month detox protocol can be broken up, for example, two or three weeks before an event and one week after, but four weeks is ideal.

    The Vegan Monday Detoxification Hack

    I'm not vegan. After healing my thyroid many years ago, I need fish in my diet to feel strong, but I love to add more vegan recipes into my diet and reduce dairy, sugar, gluten, meat and alcohol when I do a cleanse.

    I encourage my clients to do 'Vegan Mondays' as a lifestyle hack. Going vegan after the weekend gives your body a chance to cleanse and heal if you have a few rich foods.
